Omer Hugh Brown, 57, Rt. 2, Strong, died in a local hospital at 3:45 p.m. Monday. Born in Ozan, Ark., June 7, 1907, he was the son of Pearl Ames and Drake Brown. He was a retired timberman and had lived in the Strong area for several years after moving there from Glenwood, Ark. He was a member of the New London Baptist Church. Survivors include: his widow, Mrs. Nancy C. Brown, Strong; two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Walton, Pine Bluff, and Miss Terry Lynn Brown, Strong; one son, Kenneth Brown, Pine Bluff; one grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Altona Neeley, Pine Bluff; one half-brother, Pete Perkins, Texarkana; two half-sisters, Mrs. Leona Laruent, Murfeesboro, Ark. and Miss Beatrice Moody, of North Carolina. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the New London Baptist Church with the Rev. Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Strong Cemetery under the direction of Young's. The body will be carried to the Brown home in Strong late Tuesday. (The El Dorado Times - March 9, 1965)
