Jack S. Johnson, 77, Highway 45 east, Fayetteville, died Nov. 6 in a Fayetteville hospital. Born Jan. 28, 1902, at Fayetteville, he was the son of John Samuel and Sallie Miller Johnson. He was well known locally as a dairyman and farmer and was a grandson of Dr. Pleasant A. Johnson, pioneer settler of Washington County. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fayetteville and a member of the Washington County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Flynn Johnson of the home to whom he was married Sept. 10, 1926; his sister-in-law, Gertrude Flynn of Fayetteville; two nephews; and two nieces including Marjorie Buckley of Fayetteville.
Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Moore's Chapel, Fayetteville. Requiem mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Rudolph Maus officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery under the direction Moore's Chapel.
Pallbearers will be David Hemson, John Samples, Ed Smith, Burton McGee, Luke Phillips and Max Bryant.
