SPRINGDALE — Thurman Johnson, 94, a lifelong resident of Springdale, died Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Springdale. He was born Feb. 19, 1918, in Springdale, to Sam and Ollie Sisemore Johnson.

He attended Revival Tabernacle in Springdale.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Warlord Johnson; and one son, Loyd Johnson.

Survivors include two sons, Bobby Johnson and wife, Sandra, and Lenard Johnson and wife, Brenda; one daughter-in-law, Alice Johnson; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Lena Johnson, Ona Mae Vaughn and Theda Keeney; and one brother, Bernice Johnson of Union, Ore.

Graveside services will be Saturday, March 24, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Friendship Cemetery in Springdale, with the Rev. Paul Eden and the Rev. Loyd Johnston officiating.

Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.

Ruby Johnson, 72, of Springdale died Friday, Nov. 18, 1994, at Springdale Memorial Hospital.

Born Jan. 17, 1922, at Talala, Okla., a daughter of Charlie and Bess Philpott Wofford, she was a homemaker and worked for Clarkson Mercantile for years. She was a Baptist, and she moved to this area 57 years ago from Talala.

Survivors are her husband, Thurmon Johnson of the home; three sons, Lloyd Johnson, Bobby Johnson and Lenard Johnson, all of Springdale; a brother, Steve Wofford of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Doris Wilson of Tulsa; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Sisco Chapel with the Rev. Lloyd Johnston officiating. Burial will he in the Friendship Cemetery.
