SILOAM SPRINGS — April Harriet Hayes, 88, of Siloam Springs died Feb. 7, 2008, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born May 15, 1919, in St. Paul, Minn., to John Roger Sovey and Eva Rose Hesser Sovey.
She married Vaughn Hayes on Nov. 27, 1976, in Reno, Nev. She was a retired beautician and was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Vaughn Hayes of Siloam Springs; one son, Frank Kappler and wife Carol of California; one daughter, Phillis Shourds of California, two sisters, Joan Wiese of Siloam Springs and Marge Lankford of Des Moines, Iowa.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Marc Lien officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
Arrangements are by Backstrom-Pyeatte Home of Siloam Springs.
