The body was brought to the home of his daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Compton on Route 1, where funeral services were held Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. R.S. Hayden, pastor of the M.E. Church, South. Burial was made in the Hart cemetery by the side of his wife and son. A quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. F.M. Brock, Mrs. Vernon Martin and Buell Spencer, of Bentonville, sang his favorite hymns. Pall bearers selected from his old friends were; Frank Middleton, Jep Shores, Bob Bright, Walter Coffelt, Wm. Morrison and Bailey Compton.

For a number of years he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Compton and later with his son Harry. Mr. Hayes united with the Pleasant Site Baptist Church in 1903, remaining a member of it until his death.

Five children survive him: Mrs. _?_ville, Harry and Clida Hayes of Sapulpa, Ceph Hayes sister, ten grandchildren and four-great grandchildren also survive.
