WILLIAMS, Elizabeth FRANCIS - Elizabeth Francis was born in Auburn, Cannon county, Tennessee May 27, 1848; was married to Wm. Williams in 1870. He preceded her to the great beyond August 29, 1895. To this union five children were born: Etta and Lillie {deceased}; Joe A. in San Francisco, Calif. and was unable to attend the funeral; John F. and Wm. H. were with her at the time of her death, Nov. 28, 1923. She united with the Baptist church in Tennessee while in her youth. After moving to Arkansas in 1867 she placed her membership at Pond Springs. Although unable to attend church for a number of years she remained ever faithful to her God and church. She was very devoted to her home and family, never tiring in administering to their needs. She was among the pioneers of Rogers. her father, with his family, settled near Oakley Chapel in 1867. She leaves besides her children, one sister, Mrs. Henry Williams, who resides in Rogers, and a brother, J.A. Francis at Pace's Chapel, other relatives and many friends to mourn her departure. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. J.W. Shockley Thursday afternoon. Her remains were laid to rest in the Guyll cemetery by the side of her husband to await the coming of our Lord.
