Mrs. Sarah Carden Williams, age 95 years oldest Arkansas born resident in Benton county, passed away with the dying year Sunday night. She had made her home for many years with her grand daughter, Mrs. May Woods, at Pea Ridge. Funeral services, awaiting the arrival of her only son, Ad Williams of Salem, Oregon, were held at the Baptist Church Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. R.M. Phillips of Westville. Burial was made in the Hickman cemetery.

Mrs. Williams’ life had been a full one, filled with the hardships of pioneer life as well as the tragic death of her husband.

Mr. Williams was shot by bushwhacker just after the close of the Civil War as he was plowing in the field. She never remarried.
