Funeral Services for Mrs. Blankenship Held Last Saturday
Altha Rodman Blankenship was born October 19, 1891 at Newburg, Ark., and departed this life February 7, 1961 at Melbourne at the age of 69 years, three months and 19 days.
Mrs. Blankenship was married October 16, 1912 to L. S. Blankenship and to this union 11 children were born, two of which preceded her in death. She was a life-time resident of Izard County and was a member of the Methodist Church, having been converted early in life.
Survivors besides her husband, include: eight sons, Fred of Melbourne, Guy of Wenatchee, Wash., Paul of Osceola, Ark., Wayne of Chesterton, Ind., Newt of Melbourne, Dean of Ava, Mo., Carl of Little Rock and Kay of Wichita, Kan.; and one daughter, Mrs. Billy Reynolds of Independence, Mo.; five brothers, Albert Rodman of Little Rock, Glenn Rodman of Little Rock, J. A. and Alfred Rodman of Melbourne and Albert Rodman of Forty-Four; one sister, Mrs. Homer Townsend of Forty-four and 18 grandchildren.
Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of Hall Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were: Earl King, _____ King, Bennie Floyd, ______ Clark, Dick Reeves and Hill Wyatt.
