MELBOURNE — Marie Blankenship, 82, of Melbourne died Monday, Dec. 4, 2006,
in a Batesville hospital.
Born June 1, 1924, in Melbourne, she was the daughter of Ruford Earn and Virgie Louiza Vest Rush.
She was a homemaker and a member of Belview Baptist Church.
Survivors include two brothers, Cleo Rush and Franklin Rush, both of Jumbo; three sisters,
Alma Moore of Melbourne, Jewel Dean Bundy of Tulsa, Okla., and Vera Mae Bowers
of Memphis; and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roland "Shortie" Blankenship;
a brother, Harlin Rush; and two sisters,
Bonnie Langston and Deloris Easter.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Howard Funeral Home Chapel in Melbourne
with Ricky Burke officiating. Burial will be in Combs Cemetery near Jumbo.
Pallbearers will be Clovis Vest, Jerry Melton, Kenneth Vest, Terry Weaver, Tim Blankenship
and Lee Watson.
Honorary pallbearer is J.W. Vest.
