Died August 3, 1997, Salem, Fulton County, Arkansas.
Son of Levi Lee & Marianna Louisiana Dockins Blankenship.
Married Bessie Lee Couch, May 22, 1923, Bandmill, Izard County, Arkansas.

Hugo Howard Blankenship, son of the late Lee and Mary Anna Dockins Blankenship, was born April 5, 1902 in Bandmill. He died August 3, 1997 at Salem. He was 95.
Mr. Blankenship was united in marriage to Bessie Lee Couch May 22, 1923 in Bandmill. To this union nine children were born.
Mr. Blankenship spent most of his life as a farmer and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie May of Springfield, Missouri; Rachel Dillard of Oxford; and Bernice Sherrell of Oxford; two sons, Billy Blankenship of Pleasant Hill, Missouri and Howard Blankenship of Brockwell; 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers, one sister, two sons, Burlin Blankenship and Roby Roy Blankenship and two daughters, Wilma Gay Blankenship and Alene Sherrell.
Funeral services were held August 6, 1997 at the Roman & Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Danny Hutcherson and Duane Flood officiating.
Pallbearers were Russell Sherrell, Randy Sherrell, Gene Sherrell, David Sherrell, Greg Sherrell, Roger Winkle and Kenneth Flemming. Honorary pallbearers were Newt Blankenship, Charles Cheatham and Herb Lee Everett.
Interment was at the Oxford Cemetery under the direction of the Eddie Howard Funeral Home in Melbourne.
