Deborah Sue Blankenship of Batesville, Arkansas formerly of Melbourne, Arkansas
Deborah Sue Blankenship, daughter of Lottie Sue Jackson Blankenship and the late Brice Boone “Jack” Blankenship, was born July 22, 1958 in Wenatchee, Washington. She departed this life November 24, 2013 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 55 years, 4 months and 2 days. She spent her life as a daughter, sister, niece, cousin, homemaker and friend. She was a 1976 graduate of Melbourne High School and went on to graduate from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. At the time of her death, she was employed with Future Fuel in Batesville. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Melbourne First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her mother: Sue Blankenship of Melbourne; one brother: Tim Blankenship of Melbourne; eight aunts and uncles: Von and Shirley Weaver of Melbourne, R. J. and Melba Blankenship of Melbourne, Denny and Linda Slack of Wenatchee, Washington and Richard and Lavern Doolen of Richland, Washington; numerous cousins and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her father: Jack Blankenship.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 26 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Melbourne with Rick Burke officiating. Burial will be at Melbourne Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will be Monday, November 25 from 6-8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to: Batesville Oncology Clinic, 1710 Harrison Street, Batesville, Arkansas.
Pallbearers: Mike Thompson, Greg Wilson, Kevin Coles, Jerry Allison, Rich Byers, Slaton Fry.
