Walter Calvin Cox, 63, died at his home Sunday night at 10 o'clock after a serious illness which had lasted over a year. Mr. Cox, with his wife and family, came to Gentry 17 years ago. A part of the time Mr. Cox spent in farming and for several years was employed by J.P. Roush at the Roush lumber yard. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. He was greatly loved and admired by his many friends.
Mr. Cox is survived by his widow, and three children: two sons, Wilbur Walter of Chatanooga, Tenn., and Roger of Stillwater, Okla.; and one daughter, Mrs. Fern Josephine Derr of Aurora, Nebr.
Funeral services are being held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church with Rev. Ben T. Williams, assisted by Rev. Irl G. Bridenthal, officiating. Music is being furnished by the Ozarkian quartet of John Brown University, of which Roger Cox was at one time a member. Burial will be in the Gentry cemetery, Wassons in charge.
