Parkie D. Cox, 72, of Decatur, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 1994, at the Gravette Medical Center. Born Dec. 11, 1921, at Crawford County, the son of Bert and Rosa Cluck Cox, he was a poultry and cattle farmer, a timber worker and lived in Benton County for 30 years. He was also a former resident of Oak Run, Calif. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church.

Survivors are his wife, Betty Cox, of the home; a son, Michael Randolph Cox of Decatur; one daughter, Elizabeth "Liz" Cox of Gentry; four sisters, Virginia Baxter of Van Buren, Lena McMaster and Mildred Wilson, both of Quincy, Calif., and Sybile Clester of Redding, Calif.; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Falling Springs Church in Benton County with the Revs. Kenneth Payne and Kirk Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Falling Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
