COX, Franklin - Franklin Cox, who suffered a stroke of paralysis six months ago, to a day, died Friday, Sept. 1, 1922 at his home in this city. Up to the time he suffered the stroke he had never called a physician in his life and had passed his 81st birthday. Mr. Cox was born near Knoxville, Tenn. March 9, 1841. He came to Fayetteville, Ark. when aged 10 years. He served thruout the Civil war. He was married Dec. 23, 1867 to Elizabeth Marrs. To this union were born nine children, seven boys and two girls. The wife and seven children survive. The two daughters are Mrs. E.W. Cato of Gravette and Mrs. E.L. Talley of Welch, Okla.; the sons: Charles, Frank, Fred, Earl and Mack. Mr. Cox was a faithful member of the Presbyterian church for forty years and has several times expressed his willingness to go at any time. The funeral was conducted Saturday by Rev. W.G. Brandsetter at the Presbyterian church and the body was laid to rest in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery
