Michael Woodward Cox, 72 year old resident of Flint Ridge, Oklahoma, died July 20, 2016 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Born December 29, 1943 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, he was the son of Roger F. Cox, Sr. and Annie Lee Woodward Cox. Michael worked as an electrical engineer for Delco, Clarke and Citation. He also worked for J.E. Adams Industries in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Michael married Linda Snyder on September 2, 1988 in Muskegon, Michigan. He was board president of Flint Ridge Fire Department and a lifetime member of the NRA. Michael was a member of Flint Ridge Chapel.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Cox; two children, Andrea Lange and husband Dan of Kingsport, Tennessee, and Brent Smith of Bentonville, Arkansas; three grandchildren: Tyler Cook and wife Katie, Josh Cook and Abigail Doss; one great granddaughter, Kyrian Cook; one brother, Roger Cox, Jr. and wife Vione of Chino Hills, California; two sisters, Jeanie Jones of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and Mary Ellen Mathers and husband David of Siloam Springs; three nieces: Elizabeth Mathers, Tamara Cox, and Amanda Whiteside; and two nephews, Michael Cox and John Cox.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Flint Ridge Chapel, Flint Ridge, Oklahoma, with Pastor Melvin Newland officiating. Burial will follow at Gentry Cemetery, Gentry, Arkansas.
