EVANS, L.J. - (From Sedalia) The community mourns the loss of its oldest citizen, L. J. Evans, better known as Uncle Jack. He was 78 years and 10 months of age. He was a Civil War veteran. He was loved by all. He died at his home near Sedalia where he had resided for fifty years and is survived by his aged companion and nine children.

(From Sedalia) Mrs. Juilan Evans, who has been ill for several months, died Saturday at 10 p.m. She was born in Iowa and came to this country when a child. They were among the oldest citizens of this vicinity. She leaves a large number of relatives and friends to mourn her death.
