EVANS, Sam — {from Mason Valley} Mr. Sam Evans was born Dec. 28, 1853 in Green county, Mo., and at the age of 3 moved with his parents to Benton county, Ark. He resided near Mason Valley until about eleven years ago when he moved out five miles east of Gravette and lived in that community until his death August 19th, 1912. He professed faith in Christ some three months ago and has lived up to his faith since. The remains were interred in the Coffelt cemetery Tuesday the 20th, services conducted by Rev. Brandon. A wife, 2 sons, 2 daughters, 4 brothers and 2 sisters survive him, all of whom live here with the exception of 1 sister. The sympathy of the community goes to the bereaved ones.
