EVANS, Hazel - Little Hazel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wash Evans, died last Thursday, May 7th at their home south of town; the result of small pox and the first victim claimed by that disease at Gravette. Hazel was about four years old and seemed to be getting along very well. A few moments before she died she drank a large draught of water and she soon succumbed. Igo Morgan made preparations at Bethel cemetery for the burial and Perry Frazer and Harry Allsman, who were immune from the disease, laid the little body away. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all in their great loss. All other members of the family, who were sick, are doing nicely; Mrs. Evans having so far escaped smallpox.
