RICE--Lizzle Rice, infant daughter of M. B. and Sarah C. Rice, was born Feb. 14, 1889, and was transferred from earth to glory on the night of Dec. 5, 1889. When the throat was swollen, lips parched, brains clouded, when skill and love could do no more, the messenger came for the little sufferer, to bear its precious spirit to Him who said, "Suffer little children to come unto Me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of Heaven." The snow white casket we laid side by side with other precious ones that had preceded her to the better land. Dear parents, let us remember that, while these "buds of promise" have been transplanted in their innocency and purity in the heavenly land, those beautiful hands are becoming on. Oh what a blessing, what a sublime thought, to know we all, the writer, the devoted papa and mamma, all can be ready for the summons when it comes--ready to meet our loved ones in that sun bright clime.
