Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the Fairview Methodist Church in Buford for Henry Lee Knight, 78, a retired farmer of Route 2, Mt. Home, who died at his home south of here Wednesday of last week.
Rev. Jim Fowler, minister of the Hopewell Baptist Church of Colfax, officiated. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, under the direction of the McClure Service. Pallbearers were Joe Stancil, Lloyd Stancil, Roy Haney, Melvin Haney, Forrest Martin and Hobert Pitchford.
The son of Jim Knight and Nancy Savage Knight, Mr. Knight was born at Buford on August 8, 1881. He was a lifetime resident of Baxter County and a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church. He was first married to the former Nancy Belle Roberts, who died on Sep 15, 1965. He was married last March to Ida Dewey of Flippin.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ida Knight of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Wallace Covington and Mrs. Ed Schuster, both of Bartonville, IL; two sons, Gale Knight of Peoria, IL and Tillman Knight of Mt. Home; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Watts of Gooding ID, and Mrs. Anna Tilley and Mrs. Willie Miller, both of California; three brothers; Van Knight and Marshall Knight of Mt. Home and Arch Knight of Kansas City, MO; 19 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. A son, Dale Knight preceded his parents in death.
