Funeral Rites for Mrs. Mary C. Bland Scheduled Thursday
Mrs. Mary Catherine Bland, 82, widow of the late Clark Bland of the Larue community, died at the home of her son, Loyd Bland, north of Rogers, at 9:30 a.m., Monday.
Mrs. Bland was born at Springfield, Mo., October 5, 1865. the daughter of Newton and Martha Brinston Blackburn. Most of her life, however, was spent in the Larue community.
Funeral service will be held at the Callison chapel at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, with the Rev. George Bean and the Rev. Horace Knox officiating. Burial will be in the Bland cemetery near Larue.
Mrs. Bland is survived by four daughters, Mrs. A.S. McGinnis, of Rogers, Mrs. J.M. Royster, Canon City, Colo., Mrs. Miley Howell, McGehee, Ark., and Mrs. W.H. Knox, Bentonville: five sons, Loyd and Everett Bland, Rogers, Lester Bland, Glenwood Springs, Colo., Jack Bland, Winslow, Ariz., and Ralph Bland, Rangely, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. Rachel Puryer, Spring Valley, Ark., and Mrs. Lucy Morris, Vaughn; 38 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
