ROGERS--Madge A. Bland, 76, of Rogers died April 18, 2009. She was born in Rogers on June 22, 1932, to the late Rev. Clyde and Georgia (Sparlin) Nida.

A lifelong resident of Rogers, she married Buford Buel "BB" Bland in August 1958, and he preceded her in death in 1968. She retired after 35 years of service from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and, after retirement, worked in the records department of the Rogers Police Department for seven years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and Sunnyside Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and tending her flowers, and was an avid sports and Razorback fan. She had one grandson who was the light of her life. The eldest of 12, she lovingly cared for all of her family.

Survivors include her daughter of Austin, Texas; several siblings; many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Jimmy Nida, Richard Nida, Wayne Nida and Darrell Nida.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today, April 21, at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Rogers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Callison-Lough Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Bland Cemetery.

Memorials in lieu of flowers, should be made to the American Diabetes Association, 100 W. Emma Ave. #248, Springdale, 72746.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Callison-Lough Funeral Home in downtown Rogers. Online condolences may be made at www.mem.com
