Henry Gideon Wood, Aged 85, a retired farmer of Norfork, died Tuesday in an Independece, MO, hospital.
Funeral services are scheduled for today (Thursday) at 2PM in Galatia Methodist Church with Bro. George Cleary officiating. Burial will be in the Galatia Cemetery, under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
Mr. Wood, a native of Missouri, had been a resident of Baxter County for about 50 years.
He is survived by four sons, Leslie Wood of Hollister, MO, Howard Wood and Noah Wood of Norfork and Frank Parnell of Kansas City, MO; five daughters, Fannie Mathis and Ruth Bowers of Kansas City, MO, Nettie Taylor of Albuquerque, NM, Joyce Bedlington of Yakima, WA and Nita House of Albuquerque; 30 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a brother, Marion Wood of Cabool, MO and a sister Mathis Green of California.
Pallbearers will be Winfred Benbrook, Ransom Stewart, Andy Simpson, Al Wallace, Junior Finley and Gene Alexander.
