Springfield - Kenneth Wood, 75, went to be with his heavenly father on August 12, 2018. He was born August 15, 1942 in Norfork, Arkansas.
He is fondly remembered as a kind, caring, gentle, and thoughtful Dad, Grandpa, brother, and friend. After graduating co-valedictorian from high school, he earned bachelor and master's degrees in mathematics education from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He served as a high school math teacher for many years and taught in Houston, Bolivar, and Springfield, where he retired.
He is survived by his son, Mike and wife Angie Wood of Springfield; his daughter, Sheila and husband Mike Copeland of Nixa; granddaughters: Kayla, Morgan, and Lakin Copeland; brother, Cecil Wood; sister, Debby and husband Charles Washam, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Nina Sue Wood, and sister Eileen Wood Rouse.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 18, 9-11 a.m. at Roller Funeral Home in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Services will follow at 11 a.m., with burial at Galatia Cemetery, Norfork, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory to Battlefield United Methodist Church, 5475 Daniel St. Battlefield, MO, 65619. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
