Funeral services were held at 11AM on Tuesday at the Burnt Schoolhouse for Mrs. Maggie Alice King, 80, who died in Springfield, MO, on May 17. Rev James E. Morgan, pastor of the First Christian Church officiated.
Mrs. King, a resident of Lone Rock, was a longtime resident of Baxter County. She was born in Success, MO, on September 3, 1877, and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Sanders. Her husband, Charles Oliver King, died in 1945. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Eula Holliday of Springfield, MO; two sons, E.L. King of Burden, KS and W.J. King of Holdenville, OK; 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ralph Morris, Ed Pinkston, Brewer Robertson, Roy Kirkland, Edward Mead and Corby Bench. Interment was in the Brunt Schoolhouse Cemetery.
