Married Bettie Jane Beard, July 24, 1964, Mountain Home, Baxter County, Arkansas.

Carl Dean King's parents divorced when he and his two King siblings were very young, and Iva Mae Alexander King married Rudolph Carl Parnell on October 30, 1947. Even though Rudolph Carl Parnell never adopted the three King children, he reared them as if they were his children, and they went by the Parnell surname until they were adults.

Carl Dean King of Norfork died Tuesday (Oct 28, 1997) at his residence. He ws 52.
Visitation will be from 9AM to 9PM Friday at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8PM.
Services will be at 2PM Saturday at Galatia Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Doug Huskey and the Rev. Paul Brewster officiating. Pallbearers will be Chad Parnell, David Henderson, Marty Wilson, Clint Cook, Shane Whitehead and Steven Whitehead. Honorary pallberaers will be Everett Parnell, Kevin Gragg, Jim Henderson, Terry Whitehead, Tim Parnell, David Havner, Tommy _____, and Dennis Lawton.
Burial will be in Galatia Cemetry at Norfork.
Mr. King was born June 12, 1945, at Norfork, a son of George Earl and Iva Mae Parnell King. He worked as a foreman for Everett's Sawmill and Trucking Co. for 22 years and was a lifetime resident of Norfork.
He married the former Bettie Beard on July 24, 1964, at Mt. Home. He was a member of Lone Rock Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Bettie King of Norfork; his mother Iva Mae Parnell of Norfork; two brothers, Lawrence Parnell of Norfork and Keith Parnell of Culp; three sisters, Carol Winchester, Marijo McFall and Janice Killian, all of Norfork; several aunts and uncles and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Earl King and step father, Rudolph Carl Parnell.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
