Robert Dwight McGinty, 89, of McRae, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018.

He was born February 10, 1929, in Greenbrier, Arkansas to the late Earnest Matthew McGinty and Opal Mae Bradford McGinty. Robert grew up in Greenbrier and later in McRae. He attended Beebe High School and Beebe Nazarene Church where he accepted Christ and met the love of his life, Reva Nell Christy. They were married December 30, 1947, and enjoyed a marriage of 64 years, until her passing in 2011.

Robert attended Bethany Nazarene College in Oklahoma and eventually moved to Pasadena, California, where he served as a home missions pastor in Los Angeles. In 1957 the family relocated to Pecos, Texas, where he pastored another home mission church. After an illness he had suffered there, they moved back to California to recover and redirect his profession. Robert worked for the defense contractors for a short while, but eventually went to work for Los Angeles County as an Industrial Waste Inspector from 1961-1976. In 1979 Reva and Robert returned to Arkansas for their retirement years. But, the ministry was reborn in his heart, and he accepted the call to pastor Clinton Nazarene Church in Clinton, Arkansas. After serving the church there, as well as coordinating the rebuilding of a new sanctuary, they moved to McRae where they remained and enjoyed attending Beebe Nazarene Church where their life together began.

Robert had three children, Mary Nell Smee, Earl Matthew McGinty, Roberta Mae Briscoe.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Reva Nell, his daughter, Mary, son-in-law, Gary, as well as his brothers, Ronald McGinty, Daniel McGinty, and his sister, Sue Black.

Robert is survived by one son, Earl McGinty (Sandie), Roberta Lindenmayer-Briscoe (Tom), Son-in-law, Gary Smee, two sisters, Betty Goode, Milla Munoz, and two brothers, Bill McGinty and Gerald McGinty. Six grandchildren, Garrett Smee, Janel McQueen, Mitchell Smee, Bradford Lindenmayer, Bryan Lindenmayer , and Heather Dunlap. 12 great-grandchildren; Lillian, Ellie, Carter, Braden, Emma, Colton, Madden, Maxxen, Landon, Aubrey, Kaylee, and Harley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Roller Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Beebe Nazarene Church at 11:00 A.M. The graveside will be at McGintytown Cemetary in McGintytown.

The family would like to extend a special gratitude to Summit Hospice in Searcy as well as the staff at Cabot Rehab and Nursing for their exceptional care for "Mr. Bob".

Reva Nell Christy McGinty, 78 of McRae, passed from this life on Friday, December 2, 2011. She was born December 14, 1932 in Center Hill, Arkansas to the late Earl Andrew and Annie Ophelia Nokes Christy. Mrs. McGinty was a member of the Beebe First Church of the Nazarene. She is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Mary Nell Smee; son-in-law, Gary Lindenmayer; and one brother, Donald Lee Christy.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Dwight McGinty; son, Earl McGinty (Sandra) of McRae; daughter, Roberta Lindenmayer of LaVerne, CA; son-in-law, Gary Smee of San Luis Obispo, CA; 6 grandchildren, Garrett Smee; Mitchell Smee; Janel McQueen; Bradford Lindenmayer; Bryan Lindenmayer; Heather Dunlap; 10 great grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, December 5, 2011 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home, Searcy. Services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Beebe First Church of the Nazarene, 104 Camp Ground Road. Graveside will be 3:00 P.M. Tuesday at McGinty Town Cemetery, Greenbrier.
