February 9, 1935 - January 16, 2010
Tommy Dale McGinty, 74, of Greenbrier passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2010. He was born on Saturday, February 9, 1935 in McGintytown, Arkansas to the late Pete and Arlie (Cardin) McGinty.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He was a strong Christian man, who enjoyed praising God in song with his family group, “The Singing McGinty’s.” He touched the hearts and lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of loving kindness and many wonderful memories. He was employed by American Transportation for thirty-nine years. After retirement, he enjoyed camping, playing games, especially dominoes with his wife and many friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Leona (Evans) McGinty; son, Tim McGinty and wife Paula; daughter, Tomile Adlong and husband David; three grandchildren, Amber Adlong, Ashley Adlong, and Justin Adlong; three sisters, Jettie Moreland, Judy Zellner, and Carolyn Coney; and one brother, Buck McGinty.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, J. W. McGinty.
Bobby McGinty, Keith Moreland, Jim Moreland, Perry McGinty, Gary McGinty, and Barry Zellner, served as pallbearers.
