SPRINGDALE — Sharon Bowen, 70, a near-lifelong resident of Springdale, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2015, at her home.

She is survived by her daughter Melody Bowen Miller and husband Corey Miller of Springdale, brother and sister-in-law Chester and Doris Naramor of Fayetteville, great-grandson Bryce and "granddog" Merrijane.

She was preceded in death by her dear husband Bobby Joe Bowen, parents Lester and Nettie Naramor, brothers Larry Naramor and Harold Naramor, and sister Mary Beth Naramor Dickard.

Sharon was born on Sept. 10, 1944, in Springdale and attended Springdale schools. On Sept. 10, 1961, Sharon married her one love - a handsome bluegrass banjo player named Bobby Joe Bowen. After nine years and nearly giving up, the two had one daughter in 1970, Melody Ann.

Sharon was fearless, and she was fierce. She was a proud homemaker, raising Melody, supporting Bob's work at Jones Truck Lines and his participation in bluegrass music. She had a ready smile and laugh, loved the Lord, her family, the outdoors, animals, music, sticking one finger in perfectly decorated cakes, and she made a mean banana pudding with perfect meringue.

Arrangements are with Memorial Funeral Home of Springdale with private burial at Bluff Cemetery. Family and friends will gather to joyfully celebrate her life Sunday, June 14 at 2 p.m. at the Training Center Chapel at Fellowship Bible Church at 1051 W. Pleasant Grove Rd. in Rogers. Family requests that donations be made in lieu of flowers to the American Heart Association or Circle of Life Hospice.

The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Jamestown Nursing and Rehab for making her feel safe, cared for and at home in her final year, and to the caregivers at Circle of Life Hospice for giving her unparalleled personal care in her final months. Her last days were better because of each of you.
