JENKS, Okla. — Dempsey Bowen, 65, of Jenks died Feb. 8, 2004, in Fayetteville. He was born Oct. 26, 1938, in Nob Hill to Charles Jay and Delia Harp Bowen. He was a self-employed truck driver. He was engaged to Gloria Philpott of Jenks.
Survivors include five sons, Wesley Bowen of Dallas, Texas, James Bowen of Fort Worth, Texas, Jay Bowen of Crawley, Texas, Roger Bowen of Arlington, Texas, and Christopher Bowen of Plano, Texas; one daughter, Lisa Willingham of Allen, Texas; one brother, Sherman Bowen of Springdale; two sisters, Lydia Joyner and Lena Hamilton, both of Springdale; 14 grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home with family present frail 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
