NEOSHO, Mo. — Joseph "Joe" Sherman Bowen, a resident of Neosho, Mo., formerly of Springdale, Ark., passed away Oct. 24, 2011, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark.
Joe was the oldest of five children born to Noah Sherman and Laveda Hasleteen Bowen.
He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Ginger Gail; and one sister, Eileen Grigg.
Joe touched a multitude of lives in business, friendship and family. He leaves behind wife, Maribel of the home; four loving children, Penny Ann Wright of Van Buren, Cherry Jo Long and husband Jerry of Greenwood, Ark., Yancey Cole Bowen and wife Ginger of Fayetteville, and Star Butler and husband Eddie of Decatur; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Craig of Las Vegas, Nev., and Linda Parsons of Gentry; and one brother, Dennis Bowen of Kansas, Okla.
Graveside services will be Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Friendship Cemetery in Springdale, with the Rev. Bill Williams officiating.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.
