John Ford, one of the older residents of Rogers in point of years lived here, died Monday morning at his home on North Second street. He had been in poor health for some years and had been steadily failing for some time. Mr. Ford returned to Rogers only a short time ago from Eureka Springs where he had been in charge of the Chautauqua Hotel for the past year. Previous to that he was in the hotel business at Prairie Grove for a year or two and had also lived at Fayetteville. He is best remembered by Rogers people because of the many years spent here in the grocery business, both for himself and as a clerk. He was born and raised in Benton county and has many relatives in this end of the county. He was 55 years old. He is survived by his wife and three brothers. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock and were conducted by Rev. J.W. Shockley.

Miss Leona Ford, the 19-year-old adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ford, died this morning at five o'clock. She had been in poor health all her life but had not been seriously ill until yesterday.
