When John Henry Flowers was born on September 7, 1885, in Center Ridge, Arkansas, his father, Needham, was 30 and his mother, Sarah, was 31. He married Sula Delma Hill on July 4, 1916. He died on December 17, 1967, in his hometown at the age of 82.
