Afton Huie Flowers, age 93, of Center Ridge, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014. He was born October 4, 1920 in Center Ridge, Arkansas a son of the late Willie Calvin Flowers and the late Lola Mae Hill Flowers. He was a Deputy Tax Assessor and of the Church of Christ Faith. He loved being outdoors, mowing grass, fishing, and playing with grandkids.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years Iva Nell McClaren Flowers; one son: Cleon (Patty) Flowers of Conway; two daughters: Linda Flowers of Vilonia and Gaylyn Flowers of Morrilton; one sister: Linda Yvonne McNew of Morrilton; two grandsons: Nick Flowers of Conway and Walter Fisher of Port Charlotte, Florida; one granddaughter: Lesley Hillemeyer of Conway; and three great-granddaughters: Jayden Fisher, Kinsey Hillemeyer, and Hadley Hillemeyer.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Harding Street Church of Christ with Bro. Charles Bane officiating. Burial will be at Springfield Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Family will receive friends 6:00-7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
