January 5, 1893 - November 27, 1967
A. C. (Cliff) Lewis, 74, of Smackover, died Monday in a local hospital. He was born at Mansfield, La., Jan. 5, 1893, the son of Robert R. and Etta Bossier Lewis. He had been a resident of Smackover for 45 years and was a retired employe of Gulf Petroleum Co. He was a member of the Joyce City Baptist Church and the Camden Masonic Lodge No. 11. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bertha Lee Langley Lewis of Smackover; a son, Able Allen Lewis of Buras, La.; three daughters, Mrs. Elsie Williamson, Mrs. Marie Springer, and Mrs. Earline Brewer, all of Odessa, Tex., two brothers, Edward Lewis and Marvin Lewis, both of Mansfield, La.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Rumph Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. John Burton officiating. The Smackover Masonic Lodge will conduct graveside services at the Arlington Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Langford Cheatham, Norton Craig, Buck Stedman, William Gandy, Cecil Hines and Corbin McWilliams. (El Dorado Times - November 28, 1967)
