Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Evaline Cunningham Beavers, 81, of near Advance, who died Monday moring at the Baxter County Community Hospital in Gassville, were held Tuesday morning at Burnt School. Burial was in the Brunt School Cemetery with the Roller-Barber Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Beavers was born September 1, 1868, in Baxter County. She was married in 1883 to Charles Robert Beavers.
Survivors include fours sons, Henry of Buffalo, J.C. of Cotter, Arthur of Oakland and Eugene of Gassville; five daughters, Mrs. Nora Mead of Advance, Mrs. Mary Durbin of Lemoore, CA, Mrs. Callie Merrell of Morristown, IN, and Mrs. Allie Smith of Wichita, KS, and Mrs. Velma Dilday of Grass Valley, CA; a sister Mrs. Caraline Haugh; a brother, James Cunningham; 43 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
(Note: The original gravestone--a flat one--had a birth year inscribed as 1869, but various records showed the actual birth date as September 1, 1868. During April 2014, that original gravestone was moved to the foot of the grave, and this new upright gravestone was added at the head of the grave.)
