Mrs. S. C. Beavers

Mrs. Elmira Caroline Haney Beavers died at her home in Buffalo on Monday evening, May 9. Grandma Beavers, as her family and neighbors affectionately called her, had suffered for many months with a lingering illness. She was born in 1859 at Effingham, Ill., and later moved to Flippin, Ark., where they lived until 1880, when they moved with her family to Buffalo. In 1893 she married Sidney Calvin Beavers, and during a large part of their married life, they have resided in Buffalo, where Mr. Beavers operates the White river ferry, farms and is in the mercantile business.

Funeral services were conducted at the Heiskill cemetery at Laytonville, May 10, conducted by Clarence R. Vance, and in charge of the Adams Funeral Home. Mrs. Beavers is survived by her husband, a brother, T. R. Haney, three sons, James, Edward, and John Paul, and two daughters, Mrs. George White and Mrs. Samuel Osborne, Jr., all who live at Buffalo, and by numerous other relativs and a great many friends who knew her as a faithful wife, a loving mother, and a kindly neighbor.

[Note: The gravestone has the birth & death dates as March 11, 1858 & May 8, 1937. The obituary for her gave her year of birth as 1859, and her death date as May 9, 1938.]
