Sidney Beavers, 79, pioneer citizen of Baxter County, died at the Baxter County Community Hospital in Gassville, Monday of last week. Funeral services were held Friday at the Mennonite Church in Buffalo, with Rev. Clarence Hurst officiating. Burial was in the Heiskill Cemetery with the Roller-Barber Funeral Services in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Beavers was one of the early merchants and farmers of Buffalo. He opened one of the first general stores in that section and owned and managed a large river bottom farm on White River.
Survivors include three sons, Paul of Yakima, WA, Edward of Coolidge, AZ, and Jim of Buffalo; two daughters, Mrs. George White and Mrs. Sam Orsborn, both of Buffalo, eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
