Doctor Milton Morris was born November 20, 1840 in Albemarle, Stanley County, North Carolina where he spent his boyhood days. When the Civil War began he enlisted in the Confederate Army where he served with distinction until the war closed, having attained the rank of Second Lieutenant. He returned to his native town soon after peace was made and married Miss Elmira Spencer who was his faithful companion for a period of about ten years until death claimed her on November 13, 1877. During this time the family moved to Benton County, Arkansas where Brother Morris spent the remainder of his life. There were four children born to this union. They were Frank Morris of Centerton, Ark.; Mrs. Emma Grimes of Bentonville, Ark.; Mrs Julia Cawood of Bowie, Arizona and Miss Beulah Morris of Bentonville, Ark. Brother Morris was married a second time to Miss Eliza Keel who preceded her husband to the spirit world a year and eight months ago, having passed away January 31, 1928. His second family consisted of five children. These are: Mrs. Cora Harris, deceased; Mrs. Lizzie Hagler, Los Angeles, Cal.; Mrs. Vinnie Sims, McNeal, Ariz.; Arthur Morris, Santiago, Cal., and Neelie Morris, who died in infancy. While yet a young man he was converted and joined the Methodist Episcopal Church, South of which he remained a faithful and most consistent member until death called him away. He passed to his reward at 6 p.m. September 28, 1929, having attained the ripe old age of 88 years, 10 months and eight days. Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church at Centerton, Ark. conducted by the Reverends J.A. Womack of Rogers, Ark. and T.J. Justice of Centerton, Ark. The great throng of sorrowing friends, together with the beautiful floral offerings and other expressions of sympathy and love, attested to a life well spent as a true father, a worthy citizen and a faithful friend. Eliza J. Keel was born on January 9th, 1863 in Bedford County, Tenn. She moved with her parents to Arkansas while she was but a child. On January 16th, 1879 she was married to D.M. Morris who survives her. Five children were born to this union. They are: Mrs. Vinnie Sims, Mrs. Lizzie Hagler and Arthur Morris, all of whom are living in California. The other two preceded their mother in passing from this life. Sister Morris leaves, besides her husband and the children named: two granddaughters, Marie Harris of Springfield, Mo. and Maxine Hagler of California. Also four step-children, Frank Morris of Centerton, Ark., Julia Cawood of Arizona; Emma Grimes and Miss Beulah Morris of Bentonville, Ark.; together with two sister and one brother. Being converted at a very early period in life she lived a life of consecration. She was truly a "consistent" member of the Methodist Church of Centerton, Ark., devoting a great deal of time to the work of the church and always rejoicing that she had the privilege of doing service for God and helping humanity. She became afflicted several months ago and from the first of her illness no hope was held out for her recovery. During all this time she expected the call of the Master and was ready for the summons. On Monday, January 30th, 1928 the Angel Messenger spoke the word for her to come up higher. Funeral services were held at the Centerton Methodist Church by Revs. J.A. Womack, pastor of the Methodist Church of Rogers and her own pastor, T.J. Justice. A great croud of relatives and friends attended these services with tokens of undying love and respect. Her Pastor, T.J. Justice.
