MORRIS, Lillian P. - Miss Lillian P. Morris, daughter of Mrs. C.D. Morris, died Friday morning at the home on West Walnut street. Death was the result of tubercular trouble, causing meningitis at the base of the brain. She was ill only a few days and although her condition was recognized as serious from the first her sudden death came as a great shock to family and friends. Funeral services were held at the residence Sunday at half past two and were conducted by Rev. Nelson of the M.E. church. An unusually large number of friends were present at the services, testifying to the high esteem in which the deceased and the family are held in our city. Miss Morris was born at Columbus, Kansas July 15, 1884, being twenty-two years, three months and seventeen days old. She was educated in Kansas City and spent one year at Maddox Seminary at Little Rock. Last year she attended the Conservatory of Music at Cincinnati, Ohio, studying voice culture under Miss Barr. She came to Rogers with her parents in July 1902 and at once became a favorite among the younger people of our city and has since been prominently identified with all their social and public happenings. She was best known perhaps to our people through her singing and was ever ready to assist in any worthy cause. She was a talented, attractive young woman and her untimely death has cast a shadow over the community.
