Mrs. Cleo Adams, age 89, of Norfork, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010, at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
She was born September 3, 1921, at Iola, Texas, to Henry Alfred and Mary Beffal Vernon Taylor. She moved to Norfork from Iola, Texas, in 1942, and married William Eugene "Gene" Adams on December 7, 1942. Mrs. Adams was a homemaker, and had also worked at Baxter Healthcare, the old Saltzman-Guenthner Hospital, and with the Head Start Program of Norfork Schools. She was a member of Galatia Christian Fellowship and enjoyed crocheting, cooking, gardening, reading, traveling, games and playing with her grandchildren.
Survivors are: one son: William Eugene "Bill" Adams (and wife, Pat): Norfork; six daughters: Nelda Speaks (and husband, Benny): Mountain Home; Glenna Greer (and husband, Ken): Liberty, Missouri; Gay Beard (and husband, Dwayne): Gassville; Nadine Huskey (and husband, Brother Doug): Norfork; Sandra Cockrum (and husband, Frank) and Mary Speaks (and husband, Doug): all of Holt, Missouri; a brother: J.T. Taylor: Waco, Texas; a sister: Faye Shelton: Clifton, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter: Melba Clark; a granddaughter: Rhonda Clark; and a son-in-law: Lee Clark.
Visitation with the family receiving friends will be from 6-8:00 P.M Tuesday at Roller Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Galatia Assembly of God Church with Brother Doug Huskey and Brother Ray Lamb officiating. Interment will be in Galatia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mitchell Speaks, Shannon Beard, Rodger Garton, Gerald Croson, Stephen Basty, Dean Ripple, Ryan Koch, Ryan Wilson, John Gray, Randy Ferretti, Bert Breedlove, Sean Laffey and Richard Moranz. Honorary Pallbearers will be her beloved sons-in-law and beloved daughter-in-law.
