He was the son of A.J. 'Jack' and Nettie Sammons Adams.

Jimmie Adams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Adams, died Christmas day from a stroke. He is survived by his mother, father, wife and three children.
And
James Adams, 39, for near Norfork died Friday, December 25, 1942.
He was born July 17, 1903, to A.J. 'Jack' and Nettie Sammons Adams. He was the husband of the former Ethel Woods.
Survivors include his wife; his parents; two sons, Marvin Dean Adams and L.D. 'Jack' Adams; one daughter Lilliam Adams; and three sisters, Bell Jones, Eva Burke and Ethel Ellis.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, J.C. Adams.
Funeral services were conducted at the Galatia Church near Norfork with burial in the Galatia Cemtery.
(The brief mention of Jimmie Adams's death in the Janurary 1, 1943, edition of The Baxter Bulletin was the only published information in regards to James Adams's death. The above copy and more complete obituary was constructed from information supplied by Mary Lee Lackey Nelson, and that constructed obituary is shown above.)
