Marcella Louise (Guist) Sides was born April 3rd, 1946 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Ina Jewel (McClendon) and Jack Guist. She passed away Tuesday, December 28th, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 25 days.
Marcella grew up in Springdale, Arkansas and attended school in Fayetteville. During her 12th grade year she quit school to care for her ailing mother and take care of younger siblings. She was married to Kenneth McGarrah and to this union three children were Penelope, Teresa and Wanda. After Kenneth passed away, she later married Glen Baty and they welcomed one daughter into the world, Heather. Marcella later met and married Dan Sides. Together they lived in Arkansas for a couple years until moving to Durham in May of 1999. They made their home there until present. Marcella enjoyed traveling, shopping, walking, talking on her phone and spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Penelope Ridenoure; 2 sons-in-law, Junior Foulk, and Fred Andrews; 3 sisters, 3 brothers and a brother-in-law, Gary Sides.
Marcella is survived by her husband of the home; 3 children, Teresa Foulk, Springdale, AR, Wanda Calico and husband Randall, Springdale, AR, Heather Johno and ex-husband Elton Johno, Durham, OK; 3 stepchildren, Wesley Sides and wife Stephanie, Clayton, NM, Carla Sides, Oklahoma City, OK, Chandra Hodgden and husband, Scott, Oklahoma City, OK; 16 grandchildren, Amanda Calico, Malerie Ridenoure, Dale Andrews, Nicole Andrews, Takoda Andrews, Robert Andrews, Susan Mendenhall, Taylor Sides, Brandon Sides, and wife Chelsea, Marissa Maggard and husband, Zachary, Hannah Adams and husband, Michael, Gracie Faith Hodgden and Faith Hodgden; 6 great-great grandchildren and one on the way; 2 sisters, Carolyn Spears, Springdale, AR, and Ruth Hunter, Maryland; 3 brothers-in-law, Charles Sides of Woodward, OK, Kevin Sides of Amarillo, TX, Bill Sides and wife, Carol of Weatherford, OK and a host of other loved ones and friends.
