Mrs. Bertha Fay McGarrah, 72 year-old resident of Rt. 3, Siloam Springs died Sunday, August 8, 1978 at the Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born October 10, 1905 at Crosses, Arkansas, the daughter of James Archie and Mary Ann (Burwell) Brooks. Mrs. McGarrah was a member of the 1st Assembly of God Church, West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma.
Survivors include her husband Abe of the home; 5 sons; Herman Nance of Marysville, California; Archie Nance of San Jose, California; John Nance Jr. of Stockton, California; Tommy and Larry McGarrah, both of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; 5 daughters, Mrs. Rita Faye Thomas, Mrs. Nellie C. Hancock and Mrs. Luella Marain, all of Stockton, California; Mrs. Lillian Sanders of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Mrs. Verna Williams of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; 1 Brother; Frank Brooks of Langley, Oklahoma; 2 sisters; Mrs. Pansy Rowe of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Mrs. Agnes Wagnon of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; 25 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren.
Services for Mrs. McGarrah were held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 8th at the 1st Assembly of God Church, West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma with Rev. John Butts officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Wasson Funeral Home.
