WOODS, Robert Denton - Died, November 14th, 1913 at the home of his parents southeast of Bentonville, Robert Denton Woods, only son of T.J. and Mattie Woods, aged 10 years, three months and 10 days. Though the deceased had been afflicted for many months and though the nature of his disease was such as left little hope of his recovery, his death came distressingly sudden. Three days before he had gone to some traps he had set for rabbits. About a year ago his brother had died with the same disease. Knowing his symptoms were the same as those of his brother, he believed that he was going to die and calmly told his parents so. He said he was a christian and was not afraid to die. He observed with composure his failing strength and the approaching end. The funeral service held at Oakley Chapel was attended seemingly by the whole community and the deepest condolence prevailed. Left to the bereaved parents is an only daughter of seven or eight years. The remains were buried in the Oakley Chapel cemetery by the side of the dear brother who had gone before. May the supporting grace and comforting spirit of our blessed Lord abide with the sorely bereaved family. P. Carnahan.
