WOODS, Jno. H. - Died, two miles east of Bentonville at his home, Nov. 19th, 1904, Jno. H. Woods, in the 45th year of his age. The deceased was born in Benton county, Ark. July 11th, 1860. His whole life was spent in this and adjoining communities. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in his boyhood and united with the C.P. Church. Dec. 23rd, 1899 he was elected and ordained a ruling elder in Woods' congregation, which office he faithfully filled to the utmost of his ability and to the satisfaction of the church. Nov. 24th, 1883 he was married to Mary E. Woods. To them were born nine children, six sons and three daughters, four sons and three daughters living, two sons having died in infancy. Brother Woods, though one of the most industrious and hard-working men I ever knew, was a poor man in this world's goods and leaves a dependent family worthy of the sympathy and assistance of the church and all good people, unto whom we commend them. A very large audience attended the funeral service at the church where he had so long and faithfully labored, after which his remains were laid away in the family burying ground on Brother J.N. Woods' place. May the all-sufficient grace and the comforting spirit of God be with the bereaved family, kindred and friends. P. Carnahan, Pastor.
