Oxford Citizen Dies Suddenly Tuesday Morning
Joe Taylor, life-long resident of Izard County, who made his home with a son, three miles southeast of Oxford, died suddenly Tuesday morning about 11 o'clock. He was at work in a field near the home when he suffered a heart attack and collapsed. The greater part of his life was spent in the vicinity of Oxford. He was 84 years of age. Surviving, are five sons, Gordie of Oxford, Oscar of Cushing, Okla., Steve of Oxford, Frank of Wheeling and Homer of Oxford; two daughters, Mrs. Claudie Combs of Cushing, Okla., and Mrs. Goldie Green of Salem; three brothers, S. T. Taylor of Bells, Texas, S. W. and W. F. Taylor of Oxford. Funeral services were conducted at Oxford Thursday.
