Cleva Mae Taylor of Oxford, daughter of the late Henry and Ollie Gillian McCollum was born December 24, 1926 at Violet Hill. She died October 8, 1999 at Fulton County Hospital in Salem. She was 72.

Mrs. Taylor was united in marriage to Remmel Taylor April 14, 1944 at Oxford. To this union, eight children were born. She was a mother and homemaker. She was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Remmel of the home; seven sons, Carrol Taylor of Moxee City, Washington; Harrol, Windell and David Taylor all of Salem; Gearl, R.C. and Scotty Taylor all of Oxford; one daughter, Mavilene Wilson of Melbourne; one brother Bill McCollum of Oxford; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Carolyn Mae Taylor and one sister, Wilma Webb.

Funeral services were held October 11, 1999 at Oxford Baptist Church with Duane Flood and Doug Wood officiating.

Interment was at Oxford Cemetery under the direction of Cox-Estes-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
