W. P. "Bill" Taylor Of Oxford Dies

William Paul Taylor of Oxford, a son of the late Frank and Mary Clinton Taylor was born April 18, 1905 at Oxford and passed away at Izard County Memorial Hospital August 29, 1958 at the age of 53 years, 4 months and 11 days. His death followed two heart attacks, one some two weeks ago and the fatal recurring one on August 29.
Bill, as he was known to his many friends was well known and highly respected in his own and surrounding communities. His entire life was spent in the vicinity of Oxford. By occupation he was a rural mail carrier of several years satisfactory service and had gained many friends thereby. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He professed faith in Christ several years ago and shortly before his death stated to his companion that he was ready to go if it be the Lord's will.
His companion was the former Miss Cora LaFevers of Bexar to whom he was married on June 6, 1940. They were the parents of one daughter, Billie Corinna age 9 who together with her mother survive their husband and father. Other survivors are four brothers, Ben, Olen and Jim of Oxford and John of Moxee City, Wash., one sister, Mrs. Edith Walker, of Pea Ridge, Ark., a large number of nieces, nephews and many other relatives and also friends.
Memorial services for the deceased were held Monday afternoon, September 1 at the Oxford Methodist – Presbyterian Church with Rev. Remmel Rowden officiating. The song service was directed by Garden Bone with Mrs. Tressie Lee Edmonston at the piano. Concluding services and burial in charge of the Carter Funeral Service of Salem. Casket bearers were Gordie Taylor, Steve Taylor, Early Edmonston, Roy Singleton, Eldredge Sherrell and Torrence Helm.
