Gearl Dean Jones age 79 of El Dorado, AR passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Arkansas Health Center in Benton, AR. Gearl was born on March 24, 1940 in Murfreesboro, AR to Sarah Burton Jones and James Melvin Jones. Gearl was formerly employed as a mechanic for Nascar Driver, A.J. Foyt for many years while living in Houston, TX. After returning to El Dorado, Gearl owned and operated his own auto mechanic shop, called Car Clinic, for the next 25 years before his retirement. He enjoyed riding his horse, Red Man, and was an avid hunter and fisherman, with a special passion for squirrel hunting.
Gearl was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah and Ira Vines, and James Melvin Jones; two brothers, James Henry Jones and Jesse Jones; one sister, Lorene Jones Murray; one nephew, Herman Murray; and one niece, Rochelle Jones Hammond.
Survivors include; his wife of 60 years, Shirley Ann Rogers Jones; one son, David Jones and wife Laura; one daughter, Vicki Hicks and husband Richard all of El Dorado; five grandchildren, Casey Orr and husband Kyle of El Dorado, Chesney Hill and husband Ryan of Cabot, AR, Whitney Webb and husband Brian of Norphlet, Sydney Graves and husband Wes of Junction City, and Colt Jones of El Dorado; six great grandchildren, Cameron Orr, Katelyn Orr, Caden Webb, Jaci Webb, Kennedy Jones and Julianne Graves; one niece, Linda Murray Hogue and one nephew, James Garner.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm followed by Funeral Services at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Odom Officiating. Burial will follow at Craig Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
